Head cheese/souse (brawn sandwich)
Ingredients:
· Slices
of brawn
· Slices
of bread
· Butter
or Margarine
· Cheese
slices (optional)
· Mustard
or mayonnaise (optional)
Instructions:
· Preheat
your sandwich maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
· Spread
butter or margarine on the side of each slice of bread. This step adds flavor
and helps prevent the bread from sticking to the sandwich maker.
· Place
a slice of bread, buttered side down, onto the bottom plate of the sandwich
maker.
· Layer
slices of brawn onto the bread.
· If
you want to add extra flavor, you can spread mustard or mayonnaise on top of the
brawn slices. You can also add cheese slices for a cheesy twist.
· Place
another slice of bread on top of the brawn, buttered side facing up.
· Close
the sandwich maker and cook the sandwich according to the manufacturer’s
instructions. Usually, it takes 3-5 minutes for the sandwich to become golden
brown and crispy.
· Once
the sandwich is cooked to your liking, carefully remove it from the sandwich
maker using a spatula.
· Allow
the sandwich to cool for a minute or two before serving.
NB:
You can customize your sandwich with your favorite ingredients, such as sliced tomatoes,
lettuce or pickles, to add extra flavor and texture.
Enjoy
your delicious brawn!!
I adore it exactly like this (see the picture below).
